Technology Support for Independent Living | Sentinel Silver

For Independent Senior Living Communities

Technology Confidence Is Independence

Active adults want to stay connected, protected, and confident with technology. Sentinel Silver helps your community deliver that as a valued amenity.

The Reality You Know

What We Hear from Community Operators

These are the challenges independent living communities face every day. If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone.

"My staff spends hours every week helping residents with WiFi passwords, tablet questions, and video calls. That's not their job."

— Community Manager

"Residents ask for technology help constantly. We don't have anyone trained to provide it, and we can't afford a full-time IT person."

— Executive Director

"I plan activities, not tech support. But technology questions are now part of every day. It takes time away from programming."

— Resident Services Director

"Prospective residents ask if we offer technology support. Right now, the answer is 'kind of.' That's not good enough."

— Marketing Director

For Residents

This Is for You

If you live in an independent living community and want help with your phone, tablet, computer, or any technology question, Sentinel Silver is here for you.

We are not the IT department. We are not rushed technicians who make you feel like a burden. We are patient, professional technology guides who sit beside you and help you learn at your own pace.

Whether you want to video call your grandchildren, organize your photos, protect yourself from scams, or understand that new device your family bought you, we can help.

"We never sigh. We never rush. We never look at the clock."

For Families

If You're Evaluating Communities for Your Parent

When you're touring independent living communities, ask about technology support. It matters more than most amenities because it directly affects your parent's ability to stay connected with you.

Communities that partner with Sentinel Silver offer:

  • Professional, patient technology support your parent can access on-site
  • Group workshops that help residents learn new skills together
  • Scam prevention education to protect your parent from fraud
  • Video calling setup so you can see each other whenever you want

If the community you're considering doesn't offer technology support, ask them why. Then ask if they've heard of Sentinel Silver.

Why Sentinel Silver

The Sentinel Silver Difference

Learning Portrait Protocol

Before we teach anything, we learn how each resident learns best. Visual, hands-on, step-by-step. We adapt our approach to them.

Background-Checked Guides

Every Personal Technology Guide passes federal and state background checks. Your residents are protected.

Patience as Protocol

We never sigh. We never rush. We never look at the clock. This isn't a slogan. It's how we train and how we operate.

Scam Prevention Focus

Elder fraud is a $28.3 billion crisis. We teach residents to recognize threats before they become victims.

Not IT Support

We don't fix networks or configure routers. We teach people. The relationship is educational, not transactional.

Maryland-Based, Maryland-Focused

We're not a national franchise. We're local. Ryan lives here. Your community isn't a number to us.

"My grandmother Joyce is in memory care now. I can no longer teach her to use her iPad. But I can honor what she taught me by serving other families with the patience and dignity she deserved. That's why Sentinel Silver exists."

— Ryan R. Miner, MBA, Founder

Common Questions

Questions Community Operators Ask

What are our options for partnering with Sentinel Silver?

Communities have several ways to engage with Sentinel Silver. Some communities pay a partnership fee that covers workshops, on-site support hours, and resident programming. Others provide space and promotion while residents subscribe individually. We also offer hybrid arrangements tailored to your community's needs and budget. During our Discovery Call, we'll discuss which model works best for your situation.

What if residents don't participate?

They will. One resident tells another. First workshop attendance typically doubles by month three. Technology support is something residents actually want.

Do you require a long-term contract?

No. We ask for a 90-day initial commitment to give the partnership time to demonstrate value. After that, month-to-month continuation. We earn your continued partnership through results.

How is this different from what our staff already does?

Your staff are generalists with primary responsibilities. Technology support pulls them away from those responsibilities. Sentinel Silver provides specialists whose sole focus is technology education and support. Your staff get their time back.

What happens if a resident has a technology emergency outside of scheduled hours?

Residents with individual subscriptions have access to phone and video support during extended hours. We're not 24/7, but we're available when residents actually need help, not just during business hours.

Can we promote this partnership to prospective residents?

Absolutely. We provide marketing materials, language for your website, and talking points for your sales team. Technology support is a differentiator. Use it.
